Data is critical to identifying sources and volumes of methane in the oilfield. To obtain this data, the EDF utilizes aircraft and satellite. These allow for a wide area to be surveyed, but is the data accurate and useable?

Elizabeth Lieberknecht is responsible for developing and managing EDF’s campaigns to improve regulation of the oil and gas industry for the Midcontinent Region of the US. Prior to EDF, she was a staff attorney at the TCEQ and has a law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School.

Daniel Zavala-Araiza is a senior scientist in the EDF Office of Chief Scientist where his current research focuses on actionable data related to the mitigation of methane research.
